Dr. Thai Binh Tran participated in the national conference on Publishing Law, Editorial Practice, and Publication Management, organized by the Authority of Publication, Printing and Distribution under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.
The conference brought together editors, publishing professionals, publication distributors, and leaders of publishing organizations from across the country to discuss legal frameworks, professional standards, and emerging developments in Vietnam’s publishing industry. The program focused on strengthening professional competencies while ensuring compliance with the evolving regulatory environment governing publishing, printing, and distribution activities.
For Dr. Tran, the event represented more than a professional development opportunity. It also provided a meaningful occasion to reflect on a long-standing journey in publishing, editorial work, and knowledge dissemination that has accompanied various stages of her career.
Her experience in publishing began early through the development of corporate publications, internal magazines, and communication materials aimed at promoting organizational culture and knowledge sharing. Over the years, this passion evolved through involvement in aviation publications, scientific journals, editorial projects, academic books, and international publishing initiatives.
Throughout her professional journey, Dr. Tran has contributed to a wide range of publishing activities, including editorial management, content development, academic publishing, and knowledge communication. Her work has expanded from industry publications to international academic publishing, including authorship and editorial collaboration with leading global publishers such as Routledge and Springer.
Today, as Founder and CEO of Great Peace International (GPI), Dr. Tran continues to support knowledge creation and dissemination through academic books, research projects, professional training programs, and international publishing initiatives. These activities reflect a broader commitment to strengthening research capacity, academic collaboration, and the development of high-quality intellectual outputs in Vietnam and beyond.
The conference also highlighted the strategic importance of publishing as a pillar of national development. Beyond books, journals, and magazines, publishing plays a critical role in preserving knowledge, advancing education, fostering innovation, and enhancing a country's intellectual competitiveness in the global knowledge economy.
Reflecting on the event, Dr. Tran emphasized that sustainable national development requires not only investments in physical infrastructure but also the cultivation of a vibrant knowledge ecosystem that encourages research, creativity, scholarly communication, and the dissemination of ideas that generate positive social impact.
Participation in the conference reinforces Dr. Tran’s ongoing dedication to academic publishing, knowledge transfer, and the development of meaningful intellectual contributions that support education, research, and innovation in Vietnam.
