Great Peace International (GPI) successfully organized the International Advanced Masterclass in Research Methodology: From Epistemology & Ontology to Paradigm-Level Case Study Research on 8 April 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The masterclass was led by Professor Eric Milliot, Professor of Strategic Management and International Business at Université de Nantes (France), Honorary President of ATLAS AFMI, and an internationally recognized scholar in qualitative research methodology and case study research.
Initiated and fully sponsored by Great Peace International, under the academic leadership of Dr. Thai Binh Tran, the program was designed to strengthen research capabilities among academics, doctoral researchers, and emerging scholars seeking to engage in high-quality international research.
The masterclass attracted participants from universities, research institutions, and industry organizations, creating a dynamic environment for intellectual exchange and academic dialogue. The program focused on foundational and advanced aspects of qualitative research methodology, covering critical topics such as epistemology, ontology, research paradigms, methodological positioning, and paradigm-level case study research.
Unlike many conventional research training programs that concentrate primarily on data collection and analytical techniques, this masterclass emphasized the philosophical foundations that underpin rigorous academic inquiry. Participants were encouraged to critically reflect on the relationship between research assumptions, theoretical positioning, and methodological choices in the development of high-quality scholarly work.
Throughout the session, Professor Milliot shared international perspectives and practical insights drawn from decades of academic experience in Europe and global research collaborations. Interactive discussions enabled participants to deepen their understanding of qualitative research design while exploring the challenges and opportunities associated with publishing in international journals and academic outlets.
The event also served as an important platform for networking and collaboration, bringing together lecturers, doctoral candidates, researchers, and professionals who share a commitment to advancing research excellence and scholarly impact.
The successful delivery of this masterclass represents another milestone in Great Peace International's mission to bridge global academic expertise with the research community in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. By facilitating access to internationally recognized scholars and advanced research training, GPI continues to contribute to the development of a stronger and more globally connected academic ecosystem.
As research standards continue to evolve in an increasingly internationalized academic environment, initiatives such as this masterclass play a vital role in empowering researchers to develop robust methodological foundations, produce impactful scholarship, and engage confidently with the global research community.
