Dr. Thai Binh Tran participated in the high-level conference “Port Development: Opportunities & Challenges for Ho Chi Minh City”, organized as part of the Netherlands Economic Mission on Logistics (Airports and Seaports) led by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
The event brought together policymakers, port authorities, logistics service providers, infrastructure developers, researchers, and industry experts from both Vietnam and the Netherlands to discuss strategies for developing smart, sustainable, and internationally connected port systems. Key discussions focused on digital transformation in port operations, green logistics, multimodal connectivity, supply chain resilience, and the future competitiveness of Ho Chi Minh City's maritime sector.
As a researcher and industry practitioner in aviation, transportation, and logistics, Dr. Tran joined the conference to exchange perspectives on sustainable transport infrastructure development and explore opportunities for international collaboration between academia, government, and industry stakeholders.
The conference highlighted the Netherlands’ extensive expertise in port management and logistics innovation, while providing a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and partnership building to support Vietnam's long-term logistics and trade development objectives.
