Dr. Thai Binh Tran participated in the International Conference on Digital Convergence in Economics, Society and Technology (DCEST 2026), hosted by the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Ho Chi Minh City. The conference brought together researchers, academics, and industry experts to discuss the theme: “The Impact of Digital Technology on Economic Growth and Social Development in the Modern Era.”
As part of the conference proceedings published by UEH Publishing House, Dr. Tran's research paper entitled “Building a Smart Logistics Ecosystem in Vietnam: Technology, Policy, and Human Capital Perspectives” was accepted and presented to the academic community.
The study examines how Vietnam can accelerate the development of a smart logistics ecosystem through the integration of three critical pillars: technology, policy, and human capital. The research argues that the transformation of the logistics sector extends beyond the digitalization of transportation and warehousing activities, evolving toward a data-driven ecosystem that enhances connectivity, transparency, and operational efficiency across supply chains.
Particular attention is given to the role of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data Analytics, and digital platforms, which are reshaping logistics operations and enabling smarter decision-making processes. The paper also highlights the importance of supportive regulatory frameworks, institutional coordination, and workforce development in facilitating sustainable digital transformation.
Beyond technological advancement, the research emphasizes that the successful development of a smart logistics ecosystem requires strong collaboration among government agencies, industry stakeholders, educational institutions, and research communities. Such collaboration is essential for building a logistics sector that is resilient, competitive, and capable of supporting Vietnam’s long-term economic growth objectives.
DCEST 2026 provided an important platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on how digital technologies are transforming economies and societies worldwide. The conference enabled participants to exchange ideas, share research findings, and explore innovative solutions to contemporary economic and technological challenges.
For Dr. Tran, participation in DCEST 2026 represented another opportunity to contribute to scholarly discussions on logistics transformation, engage with the broader research community, and promote the development of sustainable and technology-enabled logistics systems in Vietnam.
